As you may have seen, this April is Child Abuse Awareness month. This year, we decided to take it a step beyond social media and launch a small county initiative.
For the last week, we have had the Empty Chair Initiative set up through each of the surrounding communities. Each chair was equipped with a PSA and resources.
If you happened to have come across one of our chairs, we hope you took advantage of the resource list either for yourself or someone you know. If you did not need the resources, we hope that you were able to stop and just reflect for a second.
Child abuse is very real and very common. Help be an advocate for those who can not yet be one for themselves. If you see something, this is a reminder to say something. Our children deserve a safe place to sit.
