At our Day of Healing, survivors experienced kind, gentle touch for the first time in a very long time. Watching someone slowly let their guard down, breathe a little deeper, and allow themselves to receive care again was incredibly powerful to witness.
Not only did participants allow their walls to come down, but they also allowed their confidence back in. This, too, was something so powerful that we hope it will stick with them for years to come.
Moments like these remind us that healing is not just about time, but it is about safety, compassion, and community.
We are SO grateful to the volunteers, Danii, Dayana, and Kimberly, and our community volunteers, Valerie Onsurez Gauna, Vance Onsurez , and Priscila Carrasco, who helped make this space possible. Your kindness helped create a moment of peace for our survivors that they will never forget.
